Accessibility Notes From Ed

Why Entire Book Is Not Accessible Itself

The new book Accessibility for Everyone is as a book not fully accessible. There is a good reason for this. Most of the methods require vision, plain and simple. You cannot fix a PDF without vision, you cannot describe a screenshot without vision, and you cannot study the visual dynamic effect of the hundreds of lines of code I also supplied. It is just the nature of the beast and the software we deal with as 508 remediators. As a matter of fact it actually gets worse as documents and websites are more visually driven and dynamic. Presentation is the new effort added to 508 and that requires detailed visual analysis. Once a product is in place, testing is another matter as that is the result that must pass the information and all are able to do that.
